Home Care
Few osteopaths offer home care . And for good reason! The effort to provide care to the patient is not the same. At his office, the osteopath does not have to look for the road route, nor to use a car between each client. He does not have to carry his equipment, nor to face the bad weather. He does not have to organize a new care facility at every home, etc.
But if osteopathy were not sometimes offered in the client’s home, it would simply not be accessible to a certain number of people: those with reduced mobility, for example. Or those who have had surgery or a recent accident, or who feel too much pain to transport to the clinic, etc.
- Others would neglect their care, due to a busy schedule. Or because the children or the family situation does not allow to leave the house for the time of a care.
- Or because caregivers are already overloaded, and cannot bring the patient, and then stay in the waiting room while their loved one is being cared for, etc.
Fortunately, osteopathy at home exists. Whether at home, at home, in your home, or even in the office and in business.
Space to be provided at home (installation)
Plan the space where the treatment will take place. Although it is better to use a treatment table, it is still possible to receive a treatment without this equipment. The osteopathy or massage table is used whenever the available space and the patient’s condition allow it.
- With a treatment table: A floor area free of all furniture having about 8 X 12 feet is to be expected (2.4 X 3.6 meters). The treatment table will be installed in the middle of this space, allowing enough clearance around the treatment table for the work of the osteopath.
- Without a treatment table: Reserved for cases where there is not enough clearance space. We then adapt to the installation planned by the customer. It can be care in a sitting, lying down, or even standing position. Sometimes the installation does not allow to provide such a complete care, but is often enough to obtain relief, allowing the patient to later go to our clinic, to complete the care where the installation is optimal.
Other recommended provisions
- Choose as much as possible a quiet room of your home to receive the care (no TV on, not too much traffic from other residents or children during the treatment, …)
- Reserve a sheet. It will be spread on the treatment table.
- Reserve a towel and soap. The osteopath will wash his hands when arriving and leaving.
Rates
- $160, including care, transportation of the osteopath, and taxes
- $20 for the contribution of a treatment table. Recommended if you have enough space, and you do not already have a table of this type at home (massage table, etc.)
- And when the distance exceeds 10 km, the excess distance is calculated at $4/km.
- For your insurance claims or tax deductions, a receipt is issued.
The distance used for this calculation is that indicated by Google Maps for the fastest route between your home and our office (Longueuil, J4J-3C1). If necessary, we travel long distances. In case there are floors to be climbed without an elevator and with a treatment table, please notify the osteopath in advance.
Reduce the cost of transportation
The travel expenses concern the address visited. When more than one person receives care at the same address and on the same day, it is priced at $110 (taxes included), which is $50 less than the first client People who know each other in the same building, a neighboring building, or the same area often benefit from it. They agree to gather their care at the same address on the same day.

Some additional benefits for the home care client
Often after osteopathic care the person feels a need for rest. A nap is then recommended. It multiplies the effect of the treatment.
- Home care allows you to enjoy such a nap, without having to drive the car home.
- There’s also the privacy, or avoidance of a waiting room, that some people are looking for.
- Transportation times to and from the clinic are saved, etc.
