Cranial osteopathy: what is it?
Osteopathy is a therapeutic method that consists of listening to the human body, observing it and treating it as a whole. She uses manual therapies to restore the different systems of the human body, regardless of age, destroying blockages and tensions. Osteopathy as a whole, mainly seeks the source of pain in order to act directly on it in order to alleviate the evil.
It is performed on almost all parts of the human body containing muscles and joints. In the case of a cranial problem, it treats migraines, headaches, headaches, dizziness, nausea, or dizziness. The same applies to pain or crackles of the jaw, and problems with occlusions.
Healing in osteopathy in case of cranial problems
Treating or alleviating pain through osteopathy requires contact with muscles and bones, and applies homeostasis to relieve pain. The patient himself contributes in one way or another to his own healing.
Diet, exercise, rest, ergonomics of daily activities and stress management are the main factors that are taken into account by our practice before any therapy. These are the steps of the global approach that we integrate.
Conduct of a cranial osteopathic consultation
In the majority of health cases in cranial osteopathy, about three (3) or four (4) consultation sessions are sufficient to achieve the patient’s goals over a short period of time. We first carry out an anamnesis, which allows us to have a general idea of the reasons for consulting the client, the symptoms, and thus to make a health check. We take into account the patient’s past and recent accidents and traumas, as well as the type of employment or daily work performed by the patient. It is also essential to take into account his psychological state, his degree of fatigue, as well as his daily habits.
After the anamnesis, we move on to the next step which is the physical examination by observing the patient under different positions. We need to test mobility and vitality. Based on the tests carried out, we are able to establish a consistent osteopathic diagnosis, the purpose of which is to determine the cause(s) of the problem. We therefore build a treatment plan that can change during care, whenever the perception of the causes becomes clearer.

When the physical examination is carried out, and the treatment plan is established, our practice can therefore move on to osteopathic treatment using manual techniques. He has the possibility to work at the joint or muscular level, or at the cranial level, or fluid. It can also, depending on the needs, work on the skin or energy level. The goal is to revive the vitality and mobility of the body’s tissues.
For some cases, a session may end with advice on exercises, lifestyle, diet, self-treatment recommendations to follow at home. The duration of a session ranges from forty-five (45) minutes to one hour.
